B. Sc. Botany

Botany (Core) with Chemistry and Zoology (Complementary) other than common languages is the curriculum structure of undergraduate program. Bachler’s degree in Botany is a door step for a student to enter the world of plants with technical details. The curriculum is designed to study the basic principles, fundamental concepts, experiments, applied aspects of various branches of Botany including diversity and life history patterns of different life forms of plants, anatomy, morphology, taxonomy, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, general informatics, horticulture and nursery management, genetics, phytochemistry, etc. Other than these, regular field-based studies, study tour, lab visit, laboratory experiments and hands on training cum project are also part of the curriculum that enrich the students’ knowledge as well as skills.

M. Sc. Botany

The curriculum of M.Sc. Botany includes all major papers. It provides the students to go for in depth learning in all areas. Areas covered in M.Sc. program are; diversity and life history of lower forms of plants, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, ecology, anatomy, evolution, taxonomy, developmental botany, genetics, micro techniques, biophysics, genetic engineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, plant breeding, biostatistics, etc. Other than these, internship, study tours and lab visit related to different courses and a comprehensive viva and research project are other components of the curriculum. The curriculum is enriched with updated information that is helpful for the students to appear for competitive exams and interviews at different levels. Students who pass out are getting ample opportunities to find job or pursue research.
